1. Purpose of This Policy
This policy explains how Web Design Studio uses artificial intelligence technologies within our workflows, services, and client projects. As AI tools become a standard part of modern web development, we believe transparency matters. Clients deserve to understand how AI may be used during their project and what safeguards we apply to maintain quality, privacy, and accountability.
Our goal is to use AI responsibly as a professional tool — always in combination with human expertise, review, and quality assurance.
2. Our Approach to AI
We treat AI as a productivity and efficiency tool, not a replacement for professional knowledge, creative thinking, or technical judgement. AI accelerates repetitive tasks, supports research, assists with code generation, and helps us deliver faster — but the final output is always reviewed, tested, and approved by a human before delivery.
We believe the best results come from combining AI efficiency with human creativity and technical expertise. No deliverable leaves our studio without a developer or designer reviewing it against the project brief.
3. AI Tools We Use
We work with a range of established, reputable AI platforms as part of our development and design workflows. These may include:
- Claude (Anthropic) — code generation, HTML/CSS/JS development, content structuring, documentation
- ChatGPT (OpenAI) — code assistance, copywriting support, technical problem-solving
- GitHub Copilot — in-editor code completion and suggestion
- Bolt / v0 / Lovable — rapid HTML prototype generation, cleaned and validated before delivery
- Google Gemini — research, SEO recommendations, content review
- Midjourney / DALL·E — placeholder or concept imagery where agreed with the client
The specific tools used may vary depending on the project type, requirements, and timeline. Clients may ask which tools were used on their project at any time.
4. How We Use AI in Our Workflow
AI-assisted tools may be used across the following areas depending on project scope:
- Frontend development — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress code generation
- Figma-to-code and design-to-HTML conversion workflows
- Code review, debugging, and refactoring assistance
- SEO meta tag generation, keyword research, and Schema.org markup
- Accessibility review and WCAG compliance checking
- Technical documentation and inline code comments
- Content structure, heading hierarchy, and placeholder copywriting
- Project planning, task breakdown, and workflow automation
Not every project involves AI assistance. The level of AI involvement varies depending on project requirements, complexity, and client preferences.
5. Human Review and Quality Assurance
Every deliverable undergoes human review before it reaches the client. AI-generated outputs are treated as a first draft, not a finished product. Our quality assurance process includes:
- Code inspection and manual testing across browsers and devices
- Performance audit (Core Web Vitals, PageSpeed)
- Accessibility and WCAG compliance checks
- SEO validation — meta tags, Schema markup, heading structure
- Design comparison against the original brief or Figma file
- Security review for any form handling, database connections, or PHP code
Final responsibility for every deliverable rests with Web Design Studio, regardless of the tools used during development.
6. Privacy and Client Confidentiality
Protecting client information is a priority. We take the following measures when using AI tools in relation to client projects:
- We do not share client login credentials, API keys, payment details, or sensitive business data with AI platforms
- Where possible, project context shared with AI tools is anonymised or limited to the technical task at hand
- We avoid submitting confidential business strategies, unpublished content, or proprietary information to AI systems
- Client project files, design assets, and source code are not uploaded to AI platforms without the client's knowledge
Please note that major AI platforms (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) have their own data retention and privacy policies. Where clients have specific data sensitivity requirements, they should inform us before project commencement so we can adjust our workflow accordingly.
7. Intellectual Property
Ownership of final project deliverables transfers to the client upon full payment, regardless of whether AI tools contributed to portions of the workflow. This is consistent with our standard project agreement.
Clients receive ownership rights to the final deliverables subject to any third-party licensing requirements applicable to plugins, frameworks, APIs, stock assets, fonts, or software used within the project — whether AI-assisted or otherwise.
We do not claim any intellectual property rights over client project deliverables based on the use of AI tools in our workflow.
8. Limitations of AI
AI technologies are powerful but imperfect. Clients should be aware that AI-generated outputs may occasionally contain:
- Code errors, logic issues, or security vulnerabilities requiring correction
- Outdated information or references that need verification
- Generic or placeholder content that requires client review and approval
- Design suggestions that may not match brand identity without human refinement
These limitations are precisely why every AI output at Web Design Studio is subject to human review before delivery. We never rely on AI output without professional validation.
9. Client Opt-Out
Clients who prefer a fully human-coded project with no AI assistance may request this before project commencement. We will evaluate the request and provide an adjusted timeline and quote accordingly, as AI-assisted workflows can significantly reduce delivery time and cost.
Opt-out requests must be made in writing before work begins. We cannot retroactively change the workflow once a project is underway.
10. Compliance and Responsible Use
We use AI tools in accordance with applicable laws, privacy regulations (including GDPR where relevant), intellectual property requirements, and the terms of service of each AI platform we work with.
We do not use AI tools to generate misleading content, infringe on third-party intellectual property, bypass security controls, or engage in any activity that violates applicable law or professional ethics.
We monitor developments in AI regulation and industry best practice and will update our approach as the landscape evolves.
11. Changes to This Policy
AI technology evolves rapidly, and our use of AI tools may change over time. We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in the tools we use, regulatory requirements, or our internal practices. Changes will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
